WARNING TO ALL MEMBERS! THIEVES ARE AT GOLD'S

bands of thieves target the locker rooms of golds gym and use bolt cutters to cut the locks off of the lockers. gold's gym in herndon va has not addressed the problem. they claim they can not stop it. they have no security in the gym to stop it or any surveillance equipment to record the thieves for prosecution, or at least discourage the thieves. there are no warnings in the gym to warn members about bringing valuables to the gym. my lock was cut off and my wallet was taken. golds response was, "oh that happened 5 times today." what a pathetic response! if they knew it was happening why did they not warn their members? wouldn't you think that would be the responsible thing to do?

Yea, the Gold's Gym in West Roxbury, MA is the most ghetto gym in the area. I've been a member at two Boston Sports Clubs in the MA area and have never had a problem with the facility itself, so when I joined Gold's it was a real eye-opener. They are supposidly renovating the gym to double its size with brand new equipment and facilities, but this should have been done by now. Looking at the work space, you can tell it won't be done for a long while. The showers in the men's locker room always have dead flies or pools of piss. THe smell of mold and mildew is almost unbearable. If it's raining, expect leaking. And if the equipment doesn't work, then deal with it: it won't be fixed. Argh!! I realize the gym membership is cheap ($25 a month), but come on!! Totally nastly. Too bad I signed the good ole Gold's Gym year lease. They have my soul until Sept. 2007. Sigh.

Quality of Personal Training at Silver Springs MD Golds Gym:

I had a personal trainer who was part-time at Golds and then the management got rid of all of the part time personal trainers. So I still had some training sessions left so I arranged the sessions with the head of personal training, Michael Moore. He was actually pretty good but when it comes to communication he stinks!!! He is not good at returning messages and I called several times to reschedule. No avail. So I just gave up and when I would go to Golds he would never offer a reason why he never returned his messages. He acts like nothing ever happens. The guy is just a low life scumbag. I hope he does not do well as a pro. He does not deserve it!! Also Golds need to hire managers who can assist its clients, not work against them. Shame on him.

I BELONG TO THE GOLDS GYM AT GILBERT AND BASELINE IN GILBERT AZ AND EVERY YEAR I GO THROUGH THE SAME BS TO GET THEM TO CLEAN THE SHOWER ROOMS. THE PLACE IS FILTHY AND I HAVE CONTRACTED FUNGUS IN A PRIOR YEAR. I STARTED LEAVING NOTES AND MESSAGES CONCERNING THIS 3 MONTHS AGO (THIS IS MAY 18TH NOW). FINALLY HAD TO CONTACT CORPORATE--THIRD TIME IN MONTH WHEN I E-MAILED THEM TODAY. WAS PROMISED IT WOULD BE CLEAN BY MAY 16TH AND STILL NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I HAVE ADVISED FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO JOIN UP IN THE PAST AND NOW I AM ON A CAMPAIGN TO GET ANYONE I KNOW TO NOT SIGN UP--ESP TO THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION.

Has anyone has a problem with the Gold's Gym in Concord, NH?

They took our money for memberships in November with a promise they'd be open in January. It's now May, and they still don't know when the place will open. It's impossible to get a straight answer out of the staff. A woman named Julie, who is supposedly the owner, has been unapologetic and unresponsive. We dropped our YMCA membership when Gold's assured us that their gym would open by May 15. Now we have no gym, and Gold's refused to let us use the Manchester location in the meantime. What's really irritating is that when we were trying to decide whether to sign up with Gold's in November, the sales people said they'd give us passes to the Manchester site to check out how great Gold's is. If this is how Gold's does business, I'm discouraged. Anyone else having a hard time with the Concord operation? And what happened to Michelle Foy, the person who was named the owner back in August?

Golds Gym Concord,NH-This Gym has yet to open but is frought with problems. For starters it is a money laundering operation for someone that wants to clean alot of cash. The "owner" Michelle Foy, has no experience, expertise, or cash to manage the operation. Yet somehow is the owner of a multi million dollar business. I've seen alot of businesses and this one is dirty as can be. It is very obvious she is a puppet of someone else. They have been selling memberships for several months then they keep pushing their opening date further into the future, with no real opening date set yet. Their busniess tatics are also very unfair: They have hired many people who left their jobs planning on employment over the past months but now have nothing since the building is nowhere near completion. The owner cares little about intentionally lying to these people. We can't imagine what will happen to the people who actually plan to have memberships. What a surprise they will be in for!

Funny this website is called "Gold's Gym Sucks", because I've been a member of the Amherst, MA Gym now for 2 years and I love it. The staff is the best - not college age kids, but mature older adults in their 30s and 40s who obviously care about me and the other members. You can read testimonials from happy members on the front page of their site. Anyway, I think it's the best gym around. Very clean, smells great (not like a gym) and there are plenty of classes including some of the best Yoga around.

My experience at Golds gym Mumbai India was not that pleasant. I do not think highly of the COO Leena Mogre whom they had hired. From unclean bathrooms to trainers who were more like peacocks than anything else i.e. very vain to people's property getting stolen quite often especially mobile phones (mine got stolen from a locked locker) to promised gym equipment which never turned up Golds Gym under the then COO and her sidekick manager's reign vinith shetty was I repeat an unpleasant experience.

Now that she has been fired I hope they attempt to spruce up their Image and regain their reputation of being one of the best american gyms. However from what I can make out Golds Gym does not have adequate or maybe swifter control on its franchisee's operations.

I worked for golds gym for 2 years annd was fired after i requested workmans compensation. I slipped and fell and busted open my head. Now i have no job and when i used them as a reference they obviously gave me a bad one. Karyna elizondo and Minori jovel need to be fired or sued. i have seen them forge signatures and other legal documents. i have seen them make potential members cry after being confronted about their physique. somebody please do something.....please

Each Gym is owned by individual (non corporate) owners. Sure GGI is a franchise, but it has no control over how each facility is run. If you have a problem with the individual Gym, you need to take it up with that owner, or manager; and follow other legal pursuits if you are not satisfied.

In the case of worker's comp, you need to go to the Atty General of your state and file a complaint. Sometimes you can get satisfaction working with the BB, or a mediator. Good luck!

Gold's gym has been overcharging me for over a year since I have had surgery. I call, FAX, e-mail..it does not matter, I am unable to correct the problem. Is there anyone out there that can help me!
